A lethal combination of ACT Fibernet 100 Mbps Internet Connection and TP-Link Archer C9

Different people have different opinion and feedback on ACT fibernet connection. For me, it is so far so good and I am using it for more than a month without any issues and able to access the internet at a minimum of 94 Mbps wirelessly at any time.

ACT Fibernet

On having a look into the reviews and feedbacks on ACT Fibernet in Chennai, I was bit sceptical on the speed and quality. So I haven’t disconnected my previous broadband connection for a month and now after using the ACT Fibernet for more than a month now I have disconnected it. The below is the screenshot of speedtest results on wireless connection. This screenshot speaks more than my words Smile

Act Fibernet 100

Note : If you would like to have an un-interrupted and solid internet connection from ACT fibernet, insist for a direct connection of Optical fiber connection upto your home ( usually they share the connection with Cat 5 cable from a nearest junction box ). They would charge an extra 2K for the box that converts optical connection to Cat 5/6 connection that they install at your home.

TP-Link Archer C9

I never had a plan to upgrade my router but the lousy file transfer speed (1.5 Mbps) between my laptops have forced me to look for options. After Googling for couple of days , I found out that, the route cause was my 300 Mbps router and the maximum file transfer speed supported is 1 Mbps and if you are lucky enough and have wired connection, then you can get a speed of 1.5 Mbps.

The next hunt started for routers and ended up with TP-Link Archer C9. For the features that it has, the price for this reasonable and its the best for that price you can get it India. BTW, as of now there is no way you can get it in a retail shop, the only option available is to get it via Amazon or eBay.

After my router upgrade ( 1300 Mbps at 5GHz and 600 Mbps at 2.4GHz) , intranet file transfer is blazing fast and now I can transfer files at the speeds between 30 to 90 Mbps depending on the device.

Adding to this , upgrade to my internet plan have made it a very good combination and now both my internet and intranet are faster than before.
